Handcrafted wooden chess boards and sets by ChessboArt. In our small artisan workshop, every board is made for real play and lasting beauty — precise squares, smooth piece glide, and finishes that age gracefully. We build classic Staunton-ready boards as well as original designs, including vertical and magnetic sets.

What we make

• Solid-wood boards (one-piece) and folding cases with snug storage for pieces.
• Veneered boards on stable cores for a lighter, elegant look.
• Magnetic & travel sets for compact desks, coaching and trips.
• Original vertical boards as a striking, space-saving centerpiece.

Materials & finishes

We craft in premium woods such as walnut, ash, sycamore, maple, oak, iroko, sapele, and more. On select models we incorporate epoxy resin accents for depth and durability. Finishing is done by hand — natural oils and waxes for a warm, matte feel or high-gloss lacquers for a modern look.

Sizes (quick reference)

• Staunton No. 4–6 — our most requested range.
• Squares typically 50–64 mm, board edge-to-edge about 42–55 cm.
• Popular tournament pairing: 3.75″ king on 2.25″ squares.
