Dark, rich, and quietly theatrical. The ChessboINK Walnut / Silver vertical chess board is built on a deep American walnut veneer base, with light fields hand-painted in silver-chrome pigment with a deliberate gold undertone — a finish that shifts in tone depending on the light in the room.
The effect is closer to jewellery than furniture. Against the dark walnut grain, silver-gold fields read as inlaid metal at a distance, and as intricate hand-painted surface up close. It is, without question, a statement piece.
Magnetically engineered for vertical play, every piece — whether placed or mid-move — stays exactly where you left it.
Note: American walnut veneer carries naturally dramatic grain — deep swirls, occasional figuring, warm variation in tone. These characteristics are intrinsic to the material and contribute to the unique character of each board.
