Essential ChessboRN Ash is our original, handcrafted vertical chessboard – designed to combine real gameplay with timeless interior design.
Each board is made and hand-finished in our ChessboArt workshop, using durable plywood covered with natural ash veneer and framed in solid American walnut. The strong contrast between the squares and pieces makes it not only eye-catching on your wall, but also ideal for photos, video calls, or streaming.
This is more than just a wall-mounted chessboard. It’s a fully playable chess set and a decorative art piece. Hidden on the back is a subtle magnetic space – perfect for attaching a small letter or note, like a secret tucked behind a painting.
Essential means it’s ready as it is – no changes needed, no customisations required. Just the clean, honest version we stand by.
We can add a custom engraving just for you — like a company logo or an anniversary message.
We also create resin inlays and wood combinations (intarsia).

Lead Time
We are a small workshop, not a big factory. Every board is handmade with care specifically for you.
Current production time for wall-mounted boards is around 1 month. However, timing can vary slightly depending on our workload. If you need your order for a specific occasion, please send us an email – we’ll do our best to help!
