The autograph chessboards were crafted by ChessboArt in our workshop, designed to blend practicality with artistry.
These miniature chessboards, ranging in size from 12x12 cm to 18x18 cm and with thicknesses between 15 and 25 mm, are made entirely from American walnut wood. The striking variations in wood tone, from light sapwood to rich heartwood, are completely natural, showcasing the unique character of each piece.
The squares are created using epoxy resin in contrasting light and black colors, adding a modern touch to the traditional wooden design.
The inspiration for these chessboards arose, as always, from our own needs, technical capabilities, and curiosity.
The first boards made this way accompanied us to the Chess Olympiad in Budapest, where the most cherished one was signed by the legendary Polgar sisters. This special board was later donated by ChessboArt to a charity auction, fetching an impressive 4550 PLN (more than 1 000 Euro)
