ChessboTravel, or Traveling with Chess

Chess tourism is nothing new. A significant portion of professional players travel the world, focusing on their sports performance.

There's also a fairly large group of chess enthusiasts who prioritize travel and consider the opportunity to play or see chess as an additional attraction.

 

In 2023, the idea was born to send ChessboArt chess pieces around the world. It started with a Facebook post asking if anyone was going to an interesting place and could send intriguing photos.

 

To put it mildly, the idea caught on, and from March 2023 to December 2023, our chess pieces visited 34 countries and five continents (Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Africa). We are waiting for Antarctica in 2024.

 

As per the arrangements, some of the chess sets remained in place as chess gifts from Poland. Some returned to be packed into another backpack and plane a few days later.

in which you describe where and when you plan to travel. The idea is that we collect countries with an increasing emphasis on good photography.
